Analogue CCTV cameras, still alive and kicking

Analogue CCTV cameras have kind of received some bad press recently. We have been guided by the big manufacturers over the last year or two and have been led to believe that analogue CCTV is a dead technology. Well it seems that the good old analogue CCTV cameras and DVRs are still very much alive and kicking. Why is this? Well its really all down to price. Analogue CCTV systems have remained stubbornly cheap in comparison to IP cameras recording onto an NVR. Of course we all know the benefits of IP surveillance systems. The clearer images, the ease of installation, dual streaming and so forth. However it appears that price is currently the overall driving factor and with DVR and analogue camera solutions from the Asian market becoming ever cheaper but including more features and functionality, IP camera solutions are making little headway at present.
This is outlined when you get the likes of March networks bringing out a New DVR to replace there 4000 series with a projected life span of 5 years this takes us up to 2016!! Something I doubt they anticipated having to do some 3 or 4 years ago. Panasonic released their iPro range in anticipation of exponential growth into IP video solutions but as we see below they are still pushing analogue products and we think this will continue now for at least another year.

Panasonic Analogue CCTV cameras and DVR solutions include the following but what sort of prices would you be expecting to be paying?

INCLUDING:

WJ-HL204 250GB DVR from £450
WV-CP290 Fixed Camera from £90
WV-CP280 Camera Bundle from £140
WV-CF284 Static Dome from £90

Panasonic WJ-HL204 DVR with 250GB on board storage is a 4-channel recorder with H.264 compression for all cameras. With the ability to add 3 drives that takes the unit up 3TB it would seem to offer all the the end user needs at present at a fraction of the cost of an IP solution.

WV-CP290

So what about the analogue camera solutions , well with High sensitivity and high resolution.

WV-CP290

The new Panasonic WV-CP290 CCTV Camera combines the very best features you would expect from Panasonic at the very best price. In addition fixed dome camera are always popular and the WV-CF284 is compact in design and boasts a varifocal lens, and easy mount brackets.

So as we can see lots of analogue CCTV cameras and DVR  products out there from the big name manufacturers. One day it will be…. but analogue CCTV is not dead just yet!

Panasonic HD NVR

Panasonic have now made their leading edge NVR, the WJ-NV200, available
to buy through Norbain. Part of the iPro range the HD NVR boasts a host
of advanced features.

panasonic WJ-NV200These include the ability to record up to 30 IPS
across all the 16 channels in a multi format. The NVR recorder also
supports a full HD video output through an HDMI port allowing all images
to be displayed in HD. The quality is exceptional.

As we have mentioned here before at integrated CCTV the intelligent
facial recognition feature is the big selling point of the WJ-NV200
working in conjunction with the latest smart HD iPro cameras, multiple
face matching can be achieved. These HD CCTV images are matched with a
stored database in order to trigger alarms open doors or welcome
recognised customers, the possibilities in fact are endless.

Search facilities integrated into this HD NVR include an easy to use time line or alternatively you
can use the quick search calendar.

Leading the way as always the WJ-NV200 is what Panasonic hope to be one
of their big sellers during 2011. As HD recording and displayed images
comes of age we can expect Panasonic to be at the forefront of this.

WV-NW960 IP dome camera

The WV-NW960 is yet another addition to the iPro range from Panasonic. An IP dome camera, it is Weather Resistant, and features a 30x zoom function that sets it apart in its class.

The The WV-NW960 is IP66 rated so can be used in many different scenarios. Whether it is installed indoors or outdoors the dome camera is capable of delivering super dynamic images even in the harshest of environments. It contains intelligent algorithms that allows it to auto track when motion is detected. Uniquely it can also be instructed to enter auto track through a manual function on the system controller giving added to value to you IP surveillance system.WV-NW960 panasonic IP dome camera

Auto image stabilization ensure a clear image is always achieved even in windy conditions where movement and vibration can be a problem for other dome cameras. With scene changing intelligence built into the unit it is able to generate alarms should tampering occur. Dual chip technology means night time images are enhanced as the camera switches to mono in order to ensure the best pictures are always recorded working down to lighting levels as low as 0.04 lux enough for pretty much any application.

The iPro range is being enhanced by Panasonic on a regular basis and Panasonic guarantee that the iPro series is designed to deliver the highest quality throughout the entire CCTV system.

Panasonic WJ-NV200 video surveillance solution

Panasonic has now launched the WJ-NV200 network disc recorder. This will further help enhance the iPro range. The key benefit of the unit is the ability to use facial recognition technology, a feature that is becoming more and more popular. Offering HD video quality and smart analytics capability is also a feature of all the i-PRO SmartHD cameras and recorders . The WJ-NV200 provides an advanced, cost-effective IP video surveillance solution to suit the widest possible range of applications. Being a Hybrid NVR it also provides seamless operation and compatibility between analogue and IP cameras. This makes the product suitable for integration into legacy systems and enhances installation simplicity.

Full training is available on the product and this ensures that from system design to final commissioning all considerations can be taken into account to ensure a seamless installation.
