Fingerprint entry reader from iEvo the new MICRO

ievo have announced the release of their new fingerprint entry reader, the new Micro. The Micro is designed to give end users the opportunity to replace their internal access control readers with a more secure solution. The micro is fast, reliable and accurate and can be both mullion or surface mount to suit the aesthetics of the building.

The main goal of  ievo is to pick up business by saving end users money in the long run on Fobs and cards that can be such a cost burden on today’s access control solutions. In addition the Micro can genuinely claim to increase security as well as being able to manage up to 8000 fingerprints. Specifically designed for internal use only the Micro also comes in a multitude of different colours.

The micro also integrates seamlessly into Paxton, ACT, BSB and Nortech. Other manufacturers can also be  linked into and ievo can give you more information on this on request. The biometric fingerprint entry reader is going to be popular with specifiers because it gives a competitive solution that can genuinely improve existing access control installations. Good looking and able to fit almost anywhere ievo have orders for the Micro prior to their release in the new year.

Multi-spectral imaging technology is what is used to ensure the Micro reads every time. Grease ,dirt, dust or moisture has little effect on read accuracy.

So ievo have continued to evolve and now with this cost effective internal fingerprint door reader they have ensured  that they will continue to be an important supplier for those looking for a biometric solution.

Paxton energy saving reader

Paxton, always a company that likes to promote innovation are currently promoting their energy saving reader. The Paxton energy saving reader is designed specifically to help Paxton users reduce energy waste and save money on electricity bills. It is a fairly simplistic in design. Once inserted, the card toggles a relay that is connected to all the equipment in the room that needs to be enabled. The reader is designed to retain the card that will then toggle the relay again when removed thus isolating the supply to the room in question.

The idea behind the reader and why it works so well is because the user will always remove his card when exiting the room because he will need it to move freely around the building opening other access controlled doors. This concept can also work on machinery both saving energy and restricting access to only those who are authorised to use that machine. Any company reviewing health and safety should consider this option.

Ubiqz CCTV distribution

Ubiqz are starting to become a real force in the realms of CCTV and access control distribution. Conceived just 3 years ago by entrepreneur Anand Subbiah the company formed around the basis that they could offer an alternative to own branded security solutions. Ifsec this year was a launching pad for the company with Anand fronting his stand. This was deemed a great success for Ubiqz by many, including the manufacturers of the security equipment that Ubiqz supply and those who helped on the stand.

In 2010 they were acquired by Midwich already an established audio visual distributor with over 200 million in turnover. The rise of Ubiqz has since been relentless.

To this end they have now announced their technology exposed event on the 21st and 22nd of September. A dedicated vendor area including the likes of Panasonic, JVC, Bosch and Sanyo will be there for attendees to view. This event will present a great chance to meet Ubiqz employees and learn more about the company and the products on offer.

We look forward to hearing the feedback and find out how Ubiqz will be increasing their product range and market share over the coming year.

Paxton access control managing director to leave

Paxton  the access control specialist have just released the following statement

Drew Hoggatt, our Managing Director, is leaving the company on 29th July to pursue his own interests and develop his company EcoMicro Ltd.  We part very amicably with agreements to promote each other’s interest without competing.

We have been preparing this transition for 12 months and I am happy to announce that Adam Stroud and Paul Rawlinson are taking over from Drew as Joint Managing Directors. They will each be responsible for specific areas of the company: nearly all of which they have been in charge of for some time now.

It’s an exciting time for Paxton. We are on the verge of some significant product announcements and we are seeing substantial sales growth in the UK and overseas. We aim to continue our philosophy of providing industry leading products and customer support. As always, we will be looking for ways to improve further on what we do.
